Alanna Blair - Biography

Alanna Blair is a professional actor, musician, dj and daredevil.

A BFA graduate of California Institute of the Arts' School of Theater, Alanna's performances included "The Bacchae" directed by dance-theater visionary Mira Kingsley and the world premier of trans-Atlantic drama "Final Flight from Heathrow". Over one summer break she booked her first feature film lead in the urban drama "Frogtown", set in the isolation of the Los Angeles River canals.

After graduating CalArts Alanna found her home in New York City's indie arts scene, apprenticing at The Barrow Group and studying under its artistic directors Seth Barrish and Lee Brock . She made her NYC debut in the outrageous comedy "Manson: The Musical". Her solo adaptation of "The Waste Land" by TS Eliot took her to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and she co-created the two-woman rooftop drama "Above Us" for the New York Fringe Festival.

An ongoing collaboration with filmmaker Daniel Kremer spans five films (so far), each shot in a fluid, improv-focused style where she's portrayed everything from snarky vegan killjoy (The Idiotmaker's Gravity Tour) to a wide-eyed new resident of NYC (A Simple Game of Catch) to a mysterious gun-wielding stowaway (Precious Wheels Above). On the sci-fi tip, Alanna portrayed lead character's Tom's fed-up fiancé in the indie series "Pioneer One" . More recently, she booked her first network co-star role on Blue Bloods for their Season 6 finale "Down The Rabbit Hole", directed by David Barrett.

For an actor with a modest handful of network TV and film roles, Alanna is savvy on a big set, due to her work as a stunt double and photodouble on major projects. Alanna has has taken falls into a reservoir and Sag Harbor Bay, floored a station wagon, been macheted and throttled to death (two different projects), and tasered a guy in the nuts.

All this, and Alanna's only getting started. Stay tuned.
