Aldis Hodge - Biography

Aldis Alexander Basil Hodge was born in Onslow County, North Carolina. His parents, Yolette Evangeline Richardson and Aldis Hodge, Sr., served in the U.S. Marine Corps. His mother is from Florida and his father is of Dominican heritage.

Hodge played both the clarinet and the violin as a child, but as an adult his focus is on the violin; he purchased his first at the age of 18. In addition to acting, Hodge designs watches, writes, paints, and attends the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, although he does take breaks from attending full time due to his acting work.

In 2007, Hodge was awarded the role of Alec Hardison on his twenty-first birthday. In 2010, he received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in Television for his role on Leverage (2008). He was nominated alongside Jeremy Davies and Michael Emerson of ABC's Lost - Les disparus (2004), Aaron Paul of AMC's Breaking Bad (2008), John Noble of Fox's Fringe (2008), and Alexander Skarsgård of HBO's True Blood (2008). The win went to Aaron Paul.

Aldis is the younger brother of actor Edwin Hodge.
