Alex McLeod - Biography

Alex McLeod graduated from the University of Texas, with a degree in Speech Communications, and Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has performed in situation comedies and national commercials, as well as hosted a variety of reality based programs such as Trading Spaces (2000) (TLC), Joe Millionaire (2003) (FOX) and La double vie de Diane Sullivan (2001) (A&E). McLeod is best known as the original host of "Trading Spaces", for which she received a daytime Emmy nomination for her work in the first season, along with her producers. Prior to reality TV, Alex was an entertainment correspondent for the irreverent movie review series, "Moviewatch", (Channel Four, UK) and has continued to interview celebrities on and off the red carpet most recently for Hollywood 411 (2008) (TV Guide Network) and Starz Movie News (1999) (Starz-Encore channels). McLeod has guest-hosted on popular morning news/talk shows such as The View (1997) (ABC) and Good Day Live (2001) (20th Television) and has been profiled in many publications such as Newsweek and Entertainment Weekly. McLeod is based in Los Angeles and is a member of both SAG and AFTRA. In addition to being an internationally recognized television personality, Alex is a formally trained chef and has consulted for leading food companies such as Viva Food Group and Contessa Premium Foods. McLeod is currently in development for several new food, travel and lifestyle television projects.
