Alexander Wraith - Biography

Alexander Wraith was born June 29,1984 in Englewood, New Jersey, USA. He is an actor, known for Sex and the City 2 (2010), Savages (2012), Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010) and Orange Is the New Black, Taken 3 (2014) Alex trained at NIDA, the Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art. He got his first taste of the big screen by accident, when he joined a friend to an audition and ended up playing Joe Namath on the TNT show Monday Night Mayhem. Alexanders parents, moved around the United States as they founded restaurants from coast to coast. This constant relocation created a hectic and uncertain lifestyle for young Alexander, who had to continuously re-identify himself at each new town and school that he attended. After finally settling back in Englewood New Jersey the same town where John Travolta and Stanley Kubrick once lived. His father, a decorated solider, taught Alexander the value of an honest day's work, but Alexander preferred to release his feelings of isolation through the arts; he was especially inspired by the lonely geniuses like Leonardo De Vinci, Beethoven and Shakespeare. Alexander began sculpting, painting and designing, receiving a scholarship to Parsons, New York City; he pursued the science of the human body. Idolizing Bruce Lee, Alexander tried to learn and master as many martial arts as he could, leading him to the boxing ring as a Golden Gloves contender. In that arena he could taste the feeling of a crowd, and so he began performing on stage again while attending drama class at NIDA the Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art. In the theater, he finally felt that "this is what I was born to do". Alex went back to New York to train with many of the greatest acting coaches of our time Harold Guskin,Robert Modica and Wynn Handman studio's at Carnegie Hall and Susan Batson Studio of New York. They pushed him to study in the classical theater with plays like King Lear, Macbeth, and Hamlet. Then Alexander's never-ending quest for improvement continued attended Columbia University Drama program and The Lee Strasberg Theater; he has worked as a model for major brands and is a Junior Olympic Tae Kwon Do Gold medal Champion.
