Alexis Wilkins - Biography

Sitting in a room with country artist and songwriter Alexis Wilkins, you'd be hard-pressed to guess her age. Her maturity and emotional intelligence are accented with a playful wit and charm that shines through in person and in her music. Growing up in Fayetteville, AR on the edge of the Ozarks, Alexis was known for revving up the Razorback faithful with her pre game National Anthem and for penning and performing original songs in community theatre.

Musically inspired at an early age, Alexis wrote her first song at age 6 in an effort to raise money for charity. At age 9 she was invited to Nashville to record that same song, which ultimately raised money to plant more than 1,000 trees for the Nature Conservancy. The experience ignited a passion and drive to bring her music to an emerging fan base.

After moving to Los Angeles for her father's job, trips to Nashville became more frequent, and she quickly attracted repeat co-writes with a collection of the city's top talent - including Grammy nominees and #1 and Top 20 hit writers.

At age 15, Alexis released her first music video, "I Like It Like This", generating nearly 300K views from more than 175 countries and prompting an invite to open for Joe Nichols and Curtis Grimes at the Stars and Stripes Summer Beach Bash on South Padres Island, TX. Just six months later, she made her Bluebird Cafe debut with a full set of original songs and soon after returned to L.A. to pack the house at the renowned Genghis Cohen.

Alexis' songs are naturally expressive. Her lyrics draw from personal experience and observation of human nature, extracting fine details from everyday life and emotions that might otherwise go unnoticed. This is most notable in "Success Story", "Cheap Seats", "The Real You" and her 2015 summer release "Better Come Home." A self-proclaimed "hopeful romantic", Alexis's heart cannot be contained in songs like "When I Find You" and "World That Makes the Love Go Round," while her playfulness breaks through in the up-tempo "Long Story Short", "Responsible" and "Wish You Had a Truck."

Raised in a home that favored country music yet spanned all genres, Alexis embodies the storytelling of country while also feeling comfort writing on projects of all types. Most recently one of her pop tracks "Thieves" was featured in the 2015 feature film "Bad Night."

Now a resident of Nashville, Alexis also remains a hard-working actress, splitting time between California and Tennessee. You can see her in season 3 of Nickelodeon's "Instant Mom" as well as the indie feature "Painted Horses" scheduled for release in 2016. You can also see her in upcoming online features for "Balcony TV-Nashville" and "Hits in the Sticks."

Although never without her guitar, her headphones and a notepad, Alexis also loves water skiing, bad puns, HGTV, her dog, running, SEC & NFL football, and every romantic comedy ever made. Always tuned to support her community, country and planet, Alexis remains an active ambassador for Generation On, an organization focused on igniting the power of youth to make their mark on the world.
