Alina Kaufman - Biography

Alina was born in Kharkov, Ukraine. At the age of five she was invited to attend a Music Academy that was a part of the College of Music and shortly after a Dance school. At the same time she started participating in acting competitions and won first place on a number of occasions. At one of these completions she met the Principle of the top acting school in town, Litseum of the Arts. This school was organized based on the Stanislavski system of a well-rounded acting education. There she studied speech, improv, movement for actors, directing, philosophy, psychology, literature, ethics, aesthetics, history of theater, and multiple languages (Russian, Ukrainian, German, English, Hebrew). The most recognized actors were guest teachers at the school and the school partnered with the best theaters in town to put together various productions. At that time Alina was a part of such classics as Joan of Arc, House of Bernanda Alba, and Gone with the Wind, etc. After graduating from both the Litseum of the Arts and Music School she was the only person from both schools who was accepted to the University of the Dramatic Arts. Shortly after, Alina's family decided to move to the United States and she left the Ukraine.

Upon her arrival to Tucson, Arizona, she decided to attend a high school, since she wanted to understand the psychology of the American people and she was able to do so, as she graduated high school in the Ukraine at a very early age. At the same time she was accepted at the Drama Department of the Pima College, as she already had a high school diploma from the Ukraine. At one of her acting classes in college she was offered to be a part of the Romeo and Juliet production at the Borderlands Theater. And shortly after she was invited to attend the American Music Dramatic Academy in New York, but respectfully declined, as she decided to get her Bachelor Degree from the University of Arizona instead. While in school she supported herself by modeling, acting in movies and commercials, and other creative jobs, such as make up artist, stylist, store/window designer, etc. After graduation from the University of Arizona with honors she moved to Los Angeles.

Since she was a child, Alina always knew that she wanted to be surrounded by the Arts and be a part of the creative world. She was able to succeed in a number of creative fields, but her passion has always been film/theater. Her goal in life has always been to inspire and enlighten people through the arts and she pursues it with her highest aspiration.
