Alma was born and grew up in Elbasan, Albania. She started performing at a young age and moved to the states in her mid-teens. After graduating from high school Alma attended Rutgers University (New Jersey) where she studied a number of subjects from biology to french literature, philosophy etc. until deciding that a life in the performing arts was the unavoidable and adventurous future. She spent almost a year in Seattle working on fringe theater, before moving to Los Angeles and working on indie films, eventually returning to writing and producing and making several indie projects.
