Amahre Palmer - Biography

Amahre was born and raised in the small creole town of Lacombe, Louisiana. A sagacious and powerfully prolific orator, she never set her sights on becoming an actor, but instead trained and pursued a future in dance, law and literature. Her explosive energy and graceful finesse on stage was immediately recognized. As a gifted performer she set her sights on auditioning for the prestigious Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. However, due to a broken ankle suffered during a dance recital, her dream never materialized.

While attending school in Michigan, she was discovered by a Ebony Magazine photographer who would help get her signed as a Print and Runway Model. She also began taking acting classes to help alleviate anxiety during Public Speaking not realizing every intent choice was leading her on a journey that would later become her destiny.

Commanding the stage in Off Broadway performances of The Color Purple, The Wiz and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Was Enuf, 2014 will be a formal introduction to the silver screen for this theatre trained actress.
