Amin El Gamal is an Egyptian-American actor born and raised in Palo Alto, CA. He recently played fan favorite Kahlid "Amen" Salim on HBO's The Newsroom opposite Jeff Daniels, Dev Patel, and Emily Mortimer. His recent stage work include productions at South Coast Repertory, A Noise Within, Musical Theatre West (with Davis Gaines), Chalk Rep, Coeurage Theatre Company (with Valorie Curry), EST-LA (with Gates McFadden), The NY Public Theater (with JoAnne Akalaitis and Philip Glass), LA Phil Live (with Orlando Bloom and Anika Noni Rose), the Playwrights Foundation, and the Rubicon Theatre Company. He is the recipient of the Best Actor Award at the NorCal Film Festival and the Ava Greenwald Memorial Award. Amin attended Stanford University and USC's MFA in Acting program.
