Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Amir first discovered his passion for acting on stage when he was 16 years old. He took part in school plays every year until he graduated. He had his first official training in theatre and film in 2009 at Sunway University. There, he learns the Stanislavski method of acting and various other local art form pertaining to theatre as well as the basics of filmmaking and acting for the camera.
He moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2012 to study Filmmaking and made several short films while he was there. He was only there until early 2013, but this was where he gained a lot of knowledge and experience behind the scenes such as writing, directing and editing. Ultimately, he discovered that his true passion lies with acting.
In late 2013, he moved to Los Angeles, California and pursued his Masters Degree in Acting for film. Here is where he acquired a more in depth acting training such as the Meisner technique, method acting & voice and movement to name a few.
After graduating in 2015, he has done several Independent films in Los Angeles. Now he is going back and forth from LA to Kuala Lumpur doing different projects.
