Amparo Edo Biol - Biography

With nearly two decades of dedication to her art, Amparo Edo Biol has established herself as a world-class musician, composer, and french hornist. Coming from the most musical city in Spain, her developing passion for music was laced in the fabric of Valencian culture, as well as in her family. Her father introduced Amparo to her first instrument, the french horn, at age five--only to find herself playing in renowned symphonic orchestras and concert bands a few years later like Ateneo Musical del Puerto de Valencia, where she is still committed to and traces the roots of her musicianship. Upon receiving her Bachelor's in Horn Performance and another emphasis in Composition from the "Conservatori Superior de Musica Joaquin Rodrigo" in her hometown, she moved to Boston in pursuit of her second degree at "Berklee College of Music" with the SGAE Presidential Scholarship. There, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Film Scoring and minor in Orchestral Conducting. Professionally, Amparo's work has been recognized in a wide range of areas. She has worked closely with notorious musicians such as Danilo Perez, Wayne Shorter, Patrice Rushen, John Patitucci, Miles Evans, Christine Fawson, Kiril Gerstein, Anat Cohen, Victor Mendoza, DJ Premier, Gregory Fritze, Javier Limon, Juan J. Colomer and Roque Baños. Also, she has performed for prestigious composers such as Alan Silvestri, Wataru Hokoyama, Nobuo Uematsu, Lucas Vidal and Daniel Licht. Her versatile background has allowed the development of her talents to manifest in her genuinely ambitious nature. She is meticulous, passionate, and above all organized. This comes from spending a lot of time with her grandparents, parents, and younger sister who have benevolently supported her interests from the beginning. Inspired by great composers of our time, Amparo has an inescapable quality of work and from the stage to the libretto, appreciates every aspect in the art industry. Her work for an association against cerebral palsy, where she spearheaded the composition for an orchestra, also exemplifies her true love for making music that enriches any community she enters. From the intensity of classical music to the wonders of latin jazz, Amparo Edo Biol is enchanted by the happiness that her art and endeavours bring. She now resides in Los Angeles, California, where she works on film, television, video game projects, orchestral arrangements, performs and records regularly for soundtracks and albums.
