In a warm August day in Changsha, China, Amy Xianglin Shi was born. Under a strict one child policy, having a boy to carry on the family name was of utmost importance for traditional Chinese families. Since Amy was a first child, it was imperative that she was whisked away to live a secret identity at birth. Naturally, you can say she was born to play a role. Despite all adversity, Amy has succeeded in every educational role she's taken on. Amy was a Valedictorian in grammar school and high school and graduated at the top of her class while earning her two undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Computer Science. After her undergrad, Amy felt her life was hitting a moment of complacency so she defiantly moved to the US to pursue higher education. Amy moved to the US to complete her MBA. Corporate America was satisfying for a few years but Amy decided to follow her true passion in film and acting. Ever since she was put on a stage for a performance at her father's school when she was 5, she has always enjoyed the stage life. She was discovered by a talent manager at the age of 16, but her family had set a different career path for her. So to Amy being able to pursue acting in America was a dream come true. She remembers the adversity she's had to endure and looks to take that emotion and inspiration to the big screen in her upcoming roles.
