Andrew Keenan-Bolger - Biography

Actor, director, author and filmmaker. A Detroit native, he graduated from the University of Michigan in 2007 with a degree in Musical Theatre. Andrew most recently played Billy Frazier in the upcoming "Untitled Marc Lawrence/Hugh Grant Comedy." Created the role of Crutchie in the Original Broadway Cast of "Newsies" (Outer Critics Circle nominee, Best Supporting Actor). Other Broadway: "Roberston Ay" in "Mary Poppins," "Seussical," "Beauty and the Beast," "A Christmas Carol," 1st Nat'l Tours: Leaf Coneybear in "Spelling Bee," Max in "The Grinch...," "Mary Poppins," "Ragtime." TV/Film: Christophe, on "The Naked Brothers Band" (Nickelodeon), Paramount Picture's "Marci X," "One Life To Live." Upcoming: Jesse Tuck in the new Broadway musical "Tuck Everlasting." B.F.A. from the University of Michigan. As a filmmaker, Andrew is co-creator of the acclaimed web-series, "Submissions Only" now in its third season. His videos have been profiled in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Entertainment Weekly, The Associated Press and New York Magazine. He is writing a children's book series with collaborator, Kate Wetherhead for the Penguin Group.
