Anna Khaja - Biography

A graduate of the UCLA School of Drama, Anna first gained recognition on the big screen in King of California (which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival) as the unyielding but vulnerable cop who faces off with - and is eventually seduced by - Michael Douglas. Then, in seven more features, Anna played an eclectic mix of roles alongside Bradley Cooper and Jim Carrey (Yes Man), Chris MacDonald (Reunion), JK Simmons and Alexis Bledel (Post Grad), Milo Ventimiglia (Order of Chaos), Robert Carlyle and Danny Masterson (California Solo - also premiering at Sundance) and James Cromwell (Admissions).

Television credits include Silicon Valley, Quantico, The Fosters, Stitchers, The Mentalist, Bones, True Blood, The Newsroom, NCIS: Los Angeles, Criminal Minds.

In 2013, Anna starred in the acclaimed Off-Broadway play SHAHEED: The Dream and Death of Benazir Bhutto (also written by Khaja) at the Culture Project /Lynn Redgrave Theatre in NYC. Time Out NY called her performance "a wonder", the NY Times praised Khaja as a "gifted actress" and Backstage NY called the play "heart-stopping." For the Los Angeles production of Shaheed, Anna won the Ovation Award for Lead Actress in a Play; Shaheed was also nominated for Best Production of the Year. Other theatre credits include the US Premiere of David Hare's Stuff Happens (Ovation Nomination) at the Mark Taper Forum and the US Premiere of Judith Thompson's Palace of the End (Ovation Nomination/LA Weekly Award) at the NoHo Arts Center and many more productions regionally and on both coasts. Most recently, Anna starred in the west coast premieres of Falling at Rogue Machine Theatre and My Name Is Asher Lev at The Fountain Theatre - both in Los Angeles.
