Anne Carey - Biography

Anne Carey is President of Production at Archer Gray.

In her career as an independent producer, Carey has worked with filmmakers such as Ang Lee, Anton Corbijn, Bill Condon, Todd Field, Greg Mottola, Tamara Jenkins, Alan Ball, Mike Mills, Nicole Holofcener, Pablo Larrain and Lynn Shelton among others.

Carey's films have been distributed through Fox Searchlight, Universal, Sony Picture Classics, Warner Independent, Focus Features, Miramax and HBO. Her films have played and premiered at all major domestic and international film festivals.

Carey began her career at the William Morris Agency as the Director of Development, sourcing literary material for the agency's top film and television clients. Carey produced films and was head of development at the seminal independent film company Good Machine for nearly 10 years. Following Good Machine, Carey founded the New York based production company This is that, Inc. with producers Ted Hope and Anthony Bregman in 2002. This is that produced 20 films in 8 years.

In addition to her film producing work, Carey is an active adjunct professor at Columbia University Graduate Film School; an active advisor/consultant to the Canadian Film Center. Australian Film Commission and the Film Commission of New South Wales. Carey has served as producer in residence at the Sundance Producers Lab and at the Aurora Filmmakers Conference in Sydney, Australia, and as an adjunct professor at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She is an active lecturer and mentor.
