Before attending college, Antonia worked on feature films in a variety of positions including production assistant and assistant film editor. These films include George Miller's The Witches of Eastwick, James L. Brooks' I'll Do Anything, and The Lion King. She also worked in development at Gracie Films and Carsey-Werner Productions.
As an actress, Antonia appeared in features including They All Laughed (at the age of 12) with Audrey Hepburn, John Ritter and Ben Gazzara; Bottle Rocket, directed by Wes Anderson, starring Luke and Owen Wilson; The Whole Wide World, Sugartown and The Evening Star with Shirley MacLaine; and in TV Movies including To Sir, With Love with Sidney Poitier, The Rescuers, and The Price of Heaven with Cicely Tyson. While studying for her Bachelor of Science at UCLA, she wrote her first screenplay, She Was. After graduating, Antonia became a freelance journalist for The Santa Monica Daily Press and LA Weekly.
In 2001, just a week after 9/11, Antonia began an internship at CBS News 48 Hours, under producer Susan Zirinsky. It was there that she found an article about a child's death from dehydration at a teen boot camp in Arizona, which was featured on the program.
After moving to Charleston, South Carolina, Antonia began directing theatre. Two acclaimed productions were the musical My Fair Lady and Eugene O'Neill's The Long Day's Journey Into Night.
Concurrently writing in a wide variety of formats including essays, poems, and a novel, she eventually focused her talents exclusively on screenplays.
Antonia teamed with writing partner, Anne Heffron, to pen several independent feature scripts including The Rabbit Will Die and Tell Me I'm Pretty, as well as a commissioned comedy screenplay, Welcome to Applebarn's, for producers Cristy Coors Beasley and Sean Maurer. She just completed a solo project, Tangiers By Friday, an action-adventure on the high seas involving Somali pirates and human trafficking. Currently, she is also developing a TV pilot, an edgy teenage drama with a police procedural element set in Santa Monica and Venice, CA.
Antonia is in post-production on her recently penned short, My Left Hand Man, which will be her film directorial debut. She is currently expanding this idea into a full-length feature: a dark thriller centered around a family of grifters - two young brothers, trained in their shady trade by their abusive alcoholic father.
