Ava Lee Scott is a native New Yorker, born in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn. As a natural athlete Ava excelled in soccer, basketball, volleyball and track team, she is skilled in flamenco and ballroom dancing. In grade school she became the storytelling champion of her district and was selected to meet the Supreme Court Justices in Washington, DC, while there she was asked to participate in a staged courtroom drama, cast as a Supreme Court Judge; the acting spark in her caught full flame. Formal training began at The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, classical theater studies followed at The New School, and finally the Sanford Meisner technique with William Esper and Maggie Flanigan. She paid for her classes and training by doing commercials and stunt work in blockbuster movies and television. During the Filming of As Good as It Gets, director James L. Brooks choose her from a crowd and gave her lines in the film; her first official feature film credit as an actress. In 2011, Ava was cast as the Gypsy Annabella in the Off Broadway show Sleep No More. In 2014, Ava created Serenade; an immersive musical production based on a poem by Edgar Allan Poe, she wrote the book and lyrics and plays the lead character Lilith. She continues to live primarily in NYC and works as an actor in theater, film and television.
