Avril worked as both a Sunday school teacher and as a nurse at the St. Francis Psychiatric Hospital at Haywards Heath in West Sussex, England prior to becoming the Pet of the Month in the March, 1973 issue of Penthouse magazine. Lund was named Pet of the Year in 1974.
