Aylin Tezel - Biography

Aylin Tezel is a German actress known for Almanya - Welcome to Germany (Berlinale Competition 2011) and Breaking Horizons (2012) for which she received the Best Actress Award at the Torino Film Festival and the German Actors' Award for Best Upcoming Actress. On television she is known for her central performance as Cinderella in Aschenputtel (2011), directed by Uwe Janson, and for her series lead regular role as young cop Nora Dalay in Germany's most popular police drama Tatort.

Most recently she was seen as lead role Heidi in Marco Kreuzpaintner's film Coming In (2014) for Warner Bros and received the German Actors Award 2015 for Best Actress in a comedic role for her performance in Kleine Schiffe. She has recently filmed the lead role of Aylin in Christof Wahl's new feature film Macho Man (2015) and the lead role of Sabine in Robert Manson's forthcoming debut feature film Lost in the Living (2015).

Aylin Tezel studied dance and choreography in Germany's North Rhine-Westphalien city Bielefeld as well as acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. She also directed the documentary Trust me it works (2011) about the British choreographer Royston Maldoom as well as the short film Tanz mit ihr (2013,Inhale), which premiered at the Cork Film Festival 2013, the Berlin and Beyond Film Festival in San Francisco (2014) and aired on German- French TV Channel ARTE in June 2015.
