Ben Shannon - Biography

Ben Shannon was born in New Albany, Mississippi to Rita and Johnny. While in grade school, Shannon was very active in church and school theater, playing the roles of Friedrich in "The Sound of Music" and Cmdr. Harbison in "South Pacific" among others.

In college, Shannon was involved in a car accident that resulted in the amputation of his right leg above the knee. This experience sparked his interest in emergency medicine and flight nursing. After his recovery, Shannon became a flight nurse on a medical helicopter. Realizing that he missed acting and performing, Shannon joined Amputees in Hollywood to gain film experience. In 2014, he had his first role as a feature extra in "NCIS: New Orleans" (Season 2, Epsiode 10).

Shannon continues to fly the skies daily to help save the lives of others, but that doesn't stop him from pursuing his newest dream...
