Blake McCormick - Biography

Blake McCormick is an American screenwriter working in television and film. McCormick served as executive producer and showrunner of Cougar Town, an ensemble comedy created by Bill Lawrence and starring Courteney Cox. Prior to Cougar Town, McCormick wrote for the award-winning series King of the Hill and contributed to The X Files and Futurama. On the feature side, McCormick's screenplay Untitled Cops Comedy sold to Universal Pictures and was included on The Black List, a ranking of the most popular screenplays according to film executives, in 2012. In 2015, McCormick sold two television pilots to network studios. McCormick wrote and executive produced an action comedy pilot based on the film franchise Rush Hour for CBS, and wrote and executive produced a pilot based on Australian comedy The Strange Calls for NBC. McCormick serves as co-showrunner of Rush Hour for CBS.

McCormick was born in Richmond, Virginia on June 19, 1977. He is represented by United Talent Agency and Kaplan Perrone.
