Brigitte Nielsen - Biography

Brigitte Nielsen was born Gitte Nielsen on July 15, 1963 in Rødovre, Denmark. In 1979, she moved to France, then Italy, where she began her modeling career. In 1984, Italian producer Dino De Laurentiis hired her for the lead in Kalidor - la légende du talisman (1985) with Arnold Schwarzenegger. The following year, she met Sylvester Stallone and, in December 1985, married him. Meanwhile, she shot three other films: Rocky IV (1985), Cobra (1986) and Le flic de Beverly Hills 2 (1987), directed by Tony Scott, with Eddie Murphy, Paul Reiser and Chris Rock. In July 1987, Nielsen and Stallone divorced, and she recorded an LP called "Everybody Tells a Story" and sang "Body Next to Body" with Falco. In the 1990s, she made quite a few films, including 976-Evil II (1991), La caverne de la rose d'or 2 (1992) and its sequels, The Double 0 Kid (1992), Chained Heat - Enchainées (1993), Starforce (1995) with Sam Raimi, Compelling Evidence (1995), She's Too Tall (1999) with Corey Feldman and George Hamilton, and L'apocalypse (2000). In recent years, she has become interested in the music world, doing a duet with drag-queen RuPaul, "You're No Lady" (2002). She has four children: Julian (b. 1984), Killian (b. 1989), Douglas (b. 1993) and Raoul Jr. (b. 1995). She divides her residences between Milan, Italy and the United States.
