Carlos Lauchu - Biography

Carlos was born in Panama and moved to Saline, Michigan when he was 8 years old. After graduating high school on the Honor Roll, he attended an elite Michigan State University Program for the highly gifted as a Pre-Med student. Carlos was Captain of the Martial Arts team for two years. He has high level black belts in Judo, Tae Kwon Do and Jujitsu and is also a martial arts weapons expert. Upon receiving a sports injury at age 19, Carlos was ordered into rehabilitation via studying Ballet. After graduating from the University, he turned down medical school and exchanged his plans for that of a dancer on Broadway. His debut was as a principal with Ballet Folklorico and he received his breakthrough role singing and dancing in "House of Flowers" with Patti LaBelle, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner, Geoffrey Holder. Carlos then moved to Hollywood to pursue television and feature film acting. Once in California, Carlos' acting talent quickly paid off with breakthrough roles in television and feature film projects, most notably Alerte à Malibu (1989), The King of New York (1990), Stargate - La porte des étoiles (1994) and Agent zéro zéro (1996).

Carlos took a hiatus from acting to focus on raising his son, Joshua, and also to write and co-write a dozen feature film screenplays. They range from Live Action/Fantasy to Superhero/Sci-Fi to Psychological Thriller/Romance. His company, Alpha Omega Entertainment, has just produced its first independent feature film, Sutures (2009) and is set to begin Pre-Production on the next project.
