Carmela Corbett - Biography

Carmela is a dual citizen of the UK and USA, and was born in London to an English Father and an American Mother. She was educated at the artistically inclined Bedales school in Hampshire UK.

In 2009 she went on to study at The Juilliard School in New York City, and is a member of group 41.

She initially moved to Los Angeles in 2012 after graduating Juilliard to audition for Film and Television work, however she began her time there doing back to back theatre work with South Coast Repertory Theatre, Costa Mesa and the Mark Taper Forum, Los Angeles. She stared alongside Brian Dennehy in The Steward Of Christendom by Sebastian Barry and Orson Bean in Noah Haidle's Smokefall.

In 2015 Carmela realized one of her dreams to appear in the critically acclaimed period drama Mad Men. She can be seen in the episode entitled 'Severance' directed by Scott Hornbacher and alongside Jon Hamm and John Slattery.

Carmela is also a writer with two short films, Selah and Her Majesty, in production. Her children's book, The amazing adventures of Dandy the rescue dog, based on her experiences with Los Angeles shelter animals, is in development and the first in a series.

Corbett also sings and writes music, having performed at many venues around London and the US. After acting her great love is Jazz.

She is represented by ICM Partners USA, The Artists Partnership London and Brinda Bhatt. Carmela divides her time between Los Angeles, New York and London.
