Cate Carson - Biography

Cate Carson is a Director, Actress, Producer, and Writer. Cate has had recent success with her short films including national TOP 4 wildcard winning Twilight/Lionsgate film, "Masque", and co-directed TOP 20 HBO's Project Greenlight film, "Whiskey Boys". "Cleave" is a two film relationship drama short set for the 2016 festival circuit. With her slate of features and a miniseries in development, her work spans genres- Westerns, dramedies, fantasy/action, guttural true stories, and others in between. A common theme? Powerful stories led by intriguing characters of both genders that broach topics of the light and dark sides of humanity, being/finding one's true and sometimes quirky self, strife, and grit with a splash of badassery.

Her formative background as a military police officer and detective provides her with a unique skill set, including defensive tactics, stunts, and an ability to handle firearms and other weapons. A strong work ethic combined with an adventurous, ambitious, compassionate and lively personality juxtaposes her over 15 years of experience dealing with people in all types of life situations as a police officer and detective. She loves taking on diverse and challenging roles and has worked as an actor/director over the past five years, continually training, making films, and working on her craft. Previously, Cate began her work in theatre and was awarded a scholarship for acting out of over 300 applicants. Originally from Colorado, and after having lived in Italy, Cate moved to Boston and created her production company, Sensorium Pictures. She is currently the President of Development in this bi-coastal Los Angeles/New England company.
