An only child born in Georgia and raised in Tennessee until the age of 13, Cate appeared in her first commercial at the age of 5 and was on her first billboard at the age of 4. She dabbled in school plays before moving with her parents, Robert and Teresa, to Connecticut. In Brookfield, CT, she once again found herself drawn to acting in the theater at her high school, in addition to her busy schedule as a varsity cheerleader.
While at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC, she double-majored in Biology/Pre-Med and Business Management. Upon taking an elective class in acting with Donegan Smith, the original Grey Poupon "But of course!" actor, he pulled her aside with to share that he felt her calling was truly in acting. She continued to act with Smith and his theater department in each play that was performed during her instruction at LRC.
When she returned home after her time at LRC, she continued to act in Theatrical productions in the Western Connecticut theater circuit, until moving to Los Angeles in 2003 where she continues to act, perform voiceover, and model.
