Charleene Closshey - Biography

Film star, Broadway actor and classically trained musician (composer+violinist+vocalist), Charleene Closshey debuted on stage at the tender age of two. She began to play the piano and read music the same year, spending much of her childhood learning different instruments, including flute, clarinet, harp, and viola.

After receiving her BS in Marketing and Exercise Science from Florida Southern College, she continued her artistic education at The Juilliard School, New York University, Circle in the Square and Berklee College of Music.

Starring in the feature film "An Evergreen Christmas", her charisma and Southern charm bring to life a struggling musician's journey to express her own voice. Also starring Naomi Judd (The Judds), Robert Loggia ("Scarface"), and Booboo Stewart ("Twilight Saga"), Charleene both co produced and composed the musical score for this fresh holiday favorite, receiving a Best Actress nomination at the California Independent Film Festival. Also on the big screen, Charleene has appeared in "A Thousand Cuts" (from the executive producers of "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby"), "Terminal Kill", and the art film "Walking with Francis" where her graceful portrayal of the woman who would become St. Clare received an audience with Pope Francis I.

Charleene made her Broadway debut in Tony-Award winning musical "Once" at the Jacobs Theatre, the same stage James Dean premiered on Broadway sixty years prior. She starred in, produced, and composed the score of "Feather: A Musical Portrait," which premiered Off Broadway at the New York Musical Theatre Festival 2013. Additional theatre credits include "Nine," "Hair," "The Wild Party," "Jekyll & Hyde" and the U.S. premiere of "A Night at the Oscars," among others.

Charleene's ambient chart-topping album "Glimpse" is featured in yoga/meditation classes worldwide. Her violin playing landed her onstage with Josh Groban, TransSiberian Orchestra, and Frank Sinatra, Jr.; she's even dueled fiddles with legendary country artist Charlie Daniels multiple times.
