Charlie was born in Leicester, England, to an English father (Martin) and a Romani Gipsy mother (Julie). He started school life at Leicester Montessori and attended weekend classes at Pineapple performing arts in Covent Garden, London before attending full-time at The Sylvia Young Theatre School in Marylebone, London. After completing his GCSEs he attended Ratcliffe Roman Catholic college in Leicester for one year before returning to London to pursue a career in acting where he became an active member of the Bubble n Squeak collective under the guidance of Paul McNeilly - it is here that Charlie began to enhance his craft and in his own words where his real training began in the heart of Londons East End. Charlie also frequently attended Acting and Casting intensives at TVI Actors studios in Studio City, Los Angeles, USA.
