Mexico City native Christian Lanz has lived and worked throughout Latin America and the United States, where he enjoyed a career as a licensed Architect for several years before migrating to Hollywood and becoming one of the industry's most prolific bilingual voiceover announcers and actors.
A 2015 Voice Arts Award Nominee with well over two thousand commercials, promos, and movie trailers to his credit in both English and Spanish, Lanz is a veteran commercial voiceover professional and broadcast announcer with an extensive recurring client list of leading global brands, TV networks, and film studios. He has also served as the live announcer for the network telecasts of The 2015 Daytime Emmy Awards and the 2015 TV Land Awards. In addition to his voice work, Lanz has also appeared on camera as a spokesman, host, and actor in dozens of national commercials and television projects.
Years of living and working in such culturally diverse locations as Mexico City, Chile, Costa Rica, Colorado, and Los Angeles have provided the multicultural actor with the opportunity to hone his ear for dialects and accents, allowing him to cross over effortlessly between the general and Hispanic media markets for both voiceover as well as on-camera projects.
Equally proficient and accent-free in both English and Spanish, as a young immigrant Lanz first learned to speak English at the age of six by watching legendary voice actor Frank Welker as "Fred" in the original "Scooby Doo" animated television series. As destiny would have it, 30 years later Lanz would have the privilege of working alongside his childhood idol Welker on the new "Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated" television series after joining the cast in the show's second season, along with appearances in several other "Scooby-Doo" series thereafter.
Lanz has lent his voice to a variety of principal and recurring characters on several animated TV shows, perhaps most notably as the ruthless villain "Xever" (and his mutant alter-ego "Fishface") on Nickelodeon's massively successful "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" series, and as "Puss in Boots" for DreamWorksTV's animated YouTube series. Known for portraying suave Latino characters, Lanz often voice-doubles for actors Antonio Banderas, Ricardo Montalban, and "The Most Interesting Man in the World" in addition to voicing a varied assortment of characters on many popular video game titles.
Lanz's favorite pastimes include playing Blues guitar in his home studio, snowboarding, photography, and working on home improvement and design projects. A devoted automotive "gearhead" and lifelong aviation and motorsports enthusiast, he also enjoys taking road trips with his family, tuning performance cars, and spending the occasional weekend at the local racetrack.
He resides with his wife and son at their home and recording studio in Los Angeles, CA.
