Christian Torpe - Biography

Christian Torpe was born on may 12th, 1978. He grew up in Denmark but was taught screenwriting by veteran sitcom producers Nancy Steen and Fred Rubin. Before his breakthrough with the hit series Rita (2012), for which he was nominated for "International Producer of the year" and "European producer of the year" at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, he worked as a writer on numerous other shows, including Lærkevej (2009) (8 episodes) and Maj & Charlie (2008) (13 episodes), the latter co-created by him with Marie Østerbye.

He has also written movies, from Telluride short film contender Får (2009) directed by Frederikke Aspöck, to romantic comedy Sover Dolly på ryggen? (2012) directed by Hella Joof and worked on entertainment show in both television and radio.
