Cliff Moylan - Biography

Cliff Moylan hails from Boston, Massachusetts. Born to an Irish father from County Clare and an Irish-American mother from County Detroit. In a twenty two year span as a Massachusetts resident he hung his Kangol in Back Bay, The Fenway, Dorchester, Plymouth, Falmouth, Hyannis and Lynn. Although Cliff cites all his former haunts for being instrumental in honing his expertise and fluency in sarcasm it is Lower Mills, a region of Dorchester, that he holds closest to his cold, black heart.

Cliff's love of film and acting started at very early age. As young as eight years old he would sneak out of bed at night and watch all the movies he wasn't suppose to while his mother was sound asleep. Midnight Cowboy, Taxi Driver, Dirty Harry and Clockwork Orange being some of his favorites. As a Catholic school student it was The Exorcist that was his least favorite and the one movie he still doesn't feel comfortable talking about today. Cliff's love of foreign film began when his father took him to Kendall Square Cinema to see Cinema Paridiso where he didn't cry and you can't prove it. Some other foreign favorites being My Life as a Dog, Europa Europa and Antonia's Line. If The Exorcist was when Cliff's insomnia began it was certainly when Dad took him to see The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez that it ended.

Cliff's early acting performances were usually before an audience of his classmates with an encore usually before a dean or principal. When possible Cliff also performed on The Red Line (the subway running from Ashmont to Alewife station's) to glowing reviews. It was his impersonation of Charlton Heston in The Planet of the Apes that won him the most acclaim delighting commuters and strap hangers from all walks of life.

Cliff's early introduction to The Method was a five year period where he thought he was the fourth Beastie Boy.

Educated at both The Atlantic Theater Company Acting School and The William Esper Studio, the last five years have brought significant growth for Cli! both professionally and creatively. He has swapped lines with the likes of John Turturro and Giancarlo Esposito, while being directed by the likes of Steven Soderbergh, Jody Foster, Robin Wright and Steven Zaillian.

With an acting style he describes as an easy blend of Tom Sizemore, Carroll O'Connor, Gary Oldman and Ray Liotta, Cliff is welcoming what comes next. Whether it be playing a young father, a deep sea fisherman, an Irish gangster or a any facet of law enforcement Cliff will bring his trademark seriousness and his love of acting.

Cliff Moylan currently lives in The Lower East Side with his roommate, Hagler, a male Olde English Bulldog puppy named after the great middleweight champion.
