Cristina Flutur - Biography

Cristina Flutur was born in Iasi, Romania. She is best-known for playing Alina in the movie Au-delà des collines (2012), directed by the Romanian director Cristian Mungiu. For this role she has received the Award for Best Actress at the International Film Festival at Cannes, in 2012. Au-delà des collines (2012) is the first movie in her career.

While studying at the Faculty of Letters, Romanian and English Language and Literature Department, at the "Al. I. Cuza" University in Iasi, Romania, she performs in a theatre company for students, "Ludic" theatre, for 3 years. After graduating, in 2000, she decides to go more seriously into acting and becomes a student in drama at the Faculty of Letters at the "Babes-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

After finishing her studies, in 2004, she starts performing on the stage of the "Radu Stanca" National Theatre in Sibiu, Romania, where she works till the summer of 2013, when she moves to Bucharest.

From 2004 to 2013 she played in 17 classical and modern theater plays, working with well known and appreciated directors.

With the "Radu Stanca" National Theatre she played not only in Romania, but also in other countries: Ukraine, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Finland, Russia, Macedonia, Turkey, Slovenia, Italy, Colombia, Italy.
