Cyann Ribeiro - Biography

Cyann Rachel Dasilva Ribeiro was born of Cape Verdean descent on August 3, 1986 and raised in the city of Somerville in the metro Boston area. In elementary school, her favorite thing to do was sing. She sang in every talent show throughout elementary school until high school where she was chosen by the school to sing the national anthem for the varsity basketball games.

At 15, she decided to focus on developing other talents as well, and always inspired by Tyra Banks and Aaliyahs' career, she attended John Casablanca's Modeling and Career center. She learned make-up application, how to walk the runway, how to pose towards the light and took acting classes. At the age of 24, she decided to move to LA, to further pursue acting, taking classes at Lesly Kahn Studios, as well as Hot House Improv with John Thies. As of recent, she has signed with commercial agency Brick Entertainment, and is taking commercial classes as well as voice over courses with Brad Braithewaite.

Through her own self-promotion efforts she has worked on a number of exciting assignments from shooting a billboard for New Balance Athletic gear, fashion shoots in Atlanta and has recently been working on a r&b demo in which she is also the songwriter. She also recently just completed her first role in the feature film "Hollaback" due out in 2012, as the role of "Reena"
