She has been performing and producing since she was in elementary school in Sacramento, California where she was raised. She began her journey on this path at age 6 by writing, producing, and acting in shows that she and her cousins put on for family and neighborhood gatherings. She continued on it by following in the footsteps of five generations of women from her family and attending Spelman College, receiving her BA in theatre. She is a published poet and spoken word artist. She made her first foray into producing film with the short film "echoes", and is in the development process for her second undertaking as producer, Secrets & Toys (October 2007).

She lives by the quote: "When you come to the end of all the light that you know, and you are about to step off into the darkness. Faith, is knowing one of two things will happen: Either there will be something solid for you to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly. Have faith."
