Dennis Wilson was born Hawthorne, California in the fall of 1944 to Murry and Audree Wilson. The middle son of three brothers, Dennis was rebellious, argumentative and as he often acknowledged, the "black sheep" of the family. His integration into America's band, The Beach Boys came when his mother pushed his brothers to allow him to play with them, which at first, he refused to take part in. The Beach Boys fell into troubling times in the '70s, which was a direct result of Dennis' spiral into heavy drug and alcohol use. He drowned accidentally in December of 1983. He left behind a wide fan base and an even wider legacy.
