Derrick Gilbert (II) was born in Statesboro, Georgia to Derrick and Shannoda Gilbert. Derrick is a military brat. His mother and father served in the United States Army. Derrick is known for his cute dimples which landed him numerous modeling roles. At the age of 5 Derrick knew he wanted to model,dance, sing, and become a actor. He started off with an agency based out of Dallas, Texas in which one week after he signed he received numerous calls for commercials, modeling, and short films. This young man will be very successful at a young age.
