Ekaterina Botziou - Biography

Ekaterina Botziou is a British actress and writer of mixed European background; her father is Greek and her mother is English with Irish, French and distant Russian and Polish ancestry.

Born in Leigh-on-Sea, Ekaterina began showing an interest in performing arts from a young age, writing and performing various plays and studying ballet and singing.

Initially deciding to pursue a career as a criminal barrister, Ekaterina studied Law at University College London, while showcasing her acting skills in several university theater productions and short films.

After completing her law degree, Ekaterina continued with her acting training, taking classes at various institutes including RADA, and has since gained roles in main stream film, most notably Disney's Blockbuster 'John Carter of Mars' alongside Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins. She has also lent her talents to the voice over industry, voicing several short animations.

An avid writer, Ekaterina is a regular contributor to various lifestyle and fashion magazines and has her own blog 'Ekaterina's Greek Expectations'. She has also found success as an author, with her first book 'Greek Expectations: The Last Moussaka Standing' published in October 2013 and her second book 'Theseus & the Mother-in-Law and Other Myths & Legends' published in September 2014.
