Emilia McCarthy - Biography

Canadian-born (London, Ontario) Emilia McCarthy has known her passions since she was a child. She is passionate about acting, dancing and modeling and energetically pursuing "her calls in life", as she refers to them. She can be seen in the Netflix original series Hemlock Grove (2013) as fraternal twin Alyssa Sworn. Her previous credits include a guest-starring role in the highly rated CW series _"Beauty and the Beast" (2012)_ (qav) and a starring role in made-for-TV Canadian movies: Booky's Crush (2009) and Booky & the Secret Santa (2007).

At the age of eight Emilia had the opportunity to act alongside Cate Blanchett and Gael García Bernal as Cate's daughter, a role she shared with Elle Fanning, in the Golden Globe-winning Babel (2006). She has kept busy on television, too, starring in the series Unlikely Heroes (2013) and Kid's Town (2013). In addition, Emilia self-published a book--at the age of seven, with the help of her dad--titled "Baby's Wish."

Her theatrical credits include roles in "Hairspray", "Aida", "Seussical Jr." and "Tarantella Cabaret". Emilia is fluent in Spanish, French and English and her life experiences allow her to switch "culture modes" effortlessly. Her goal is to be an accomplished and respected actress and to eventually pass on her knowledge of the art of acting to young aspiring actors.
