Emilio Mazur - Biography

Emilio has enjoyed many successes in the film and television industry, but he is probably best known (to the younger set) for his role of "David" on "Barney and Friends", where his 5 years on the popular show has made him one of the longest-running cast members in the children's series.

Born in Columbia, Maryland, Emilio seemed to be destined for this path. From imitating Desi Arnaz at the age of 2 with a mean rendition of "Babalu", to performing Ricky Martin's "La Vida Loca" in front of large audiences at the age of 5, it was apparent that Emilio was carving out his own niche in the entertainment industry.

At the age of 7, Emilio's acting career began to bloom. Signed by top reputable agencies in Dallas and Los Angeles, he soon found himself auditioning and landing numerous roles in a wide variety of national commercials.

However, his big break came in 2004, when the then 9-year old was cast for the role of "Joe Cameron" opposite Timothy Bottoms and Meredith Baxter in the feature film, "Paradise, Texas". Being a part of "Paradise, Texas" had opened up many doors for him, landing him in front of top Casting Directors, Directors, and Producers in Los Angeles for many network television projects and feature films.

Emilio soon discovered that being behind the camera was just as much fun, if not more, as being in front of the camera. Taking all he had learned from being on sets for so many years, Emilio took his love of Legos and began making stop-motion Lego films, while at the same time, writing his own scripts to stockpile. "The Art of the Deal" was Emilio's first live-action short film. Working with a minimal budget and crew, he learned to use the resources he had to make the film a reality. Since then he has directed more short films, taking on larger casts, and more involved locations

As for long term plans, Emilio stays very focused on his schoolwork as he is determined to go to college and major in film production.
