Emmett Skilton - Biography

Emmett is a New Zealand-born actor, best known for his portrayal of the lead character, Axl Johnson, on The Almighty Johnsons.

His professional career began at the age of 15 with a guest role on the New Zealand series Seven Periods with Mr. Gormsby, and since then, Emmett has continued to work extensively in Film, TV and Theatre.

At the beginning of 2006, after graduating from high school, he toured New Zealand and Sydney, performing various re-written works of Shakespeare with the acting company The Ugly Shakespeare Company, before being accepted into New Zealand's leading school for acting; Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School, in 2007.

Emmett graduated at the end of 2009 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Acting and within months had secured the lead role in The Almighty Johnsons, at which time he relocated to Auckland, New Zealand, to film.

Emmett has just completed production on feature films "Bella" and "The Last Train" and when not filming, Emmett keeps heavily involved in smaller projects and the Theatre scene, having performed in three successful seasons over the past 2 years. The shows include Nina Raines "Tribes", a devised show "Paper Sky" which has toured nationally, and Gregory Burkes "Gagarin Way".
