Erica Derrickson - Biography

Erica Derrickson is an award winning actress and photographer at the center of the growing film industry in New England, also known as Hollywood East. Erica's film credits range from national blockbusters like "The Heat" in which she appeared alongside Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock, to numerous leading roles in independent films like "Melt" and "Rafi Baby", the latter of which was selected to screen at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. As of 2014 she is co-producing and co-starring in Quiet Desperation, a popular unscripted documentary-style web series based in Boston, currently in its 5th season.

Off camera, Erica's efforts remain focused on advancing her own career while also on helping those around her. She is the creator and moderator of Hollywood East Actors Group, a grassroots film organization she founded in 2012 to cultivate community within the growing the New England film industry. As of January 2014, HEA's membership had risen to more than 7,000 people and is widely considered one of the premier film networking organizations in New England.

Erica works for herself professionally as a photographer specializing in headshots, catering to the acting and business community in Boston. Her photography studio is located in Charlestown, MA and doubles as the home of the popular New England Actors Workshop classes with instructor Richard C Bailey, with whom Erica is currently training in the Meisner technique.
