Eugene Levy - Biography

Eugene Levy has appeared in over fifty motion pictures, seven of which having topped the one hundred million dollar mark. His box office success in films, like Bronx à Bel Air (2003), Treize à la douzaine 2 (2005), Le père de la mariée II (1995) and Nos voisins, les hommes (2006), has helped establish him as one of Hollywood's most popular comedic character actors. But it was his role of "Jim's Dad" in Universal's billion dollar "American Pie" franchise that cemented his reputation as being America's favorite dad.

Teaming up with Christopher Guest, Levy earned critical acclaim for co-writing and co-starring in Bêtes de scène (2000), Waiting for Guffman (1996), For Your Consideration (2006) and A Mighty Wind (2003). His work in A Mighty Wind (2003) garnered him a Grammy Award and a New York Film Critics Circle Award, along with a Golden Globe nomination for Best in Show.

Levy started his career on the popular late night comedy series, Second City TV (1976), where he won two Emmy Awards for writing. His early films include Splash (1984), Club Paradis (1986), Armed and Dangerous (1986) and Mes doubles, ma femme et moi (1996).

Recent projects include the hockey comedy, Fight Games (2011), opposite Jay Baruchel, Seann William Scott and Liev Schreiber, Ang Lee's Hôtel Woodstock (2009), his work as the voice of Albert Einstein in La nuit au musée 2 (2009) and, alongside Nicolas Cage and Samuel L. Jackson, in the animated feature, Astro Boy (2009). Next up is American Pie 4 (2012), the 10th anniversary sequel in the "American Pie" franchise.
