Finn Wittrock was born in Lenox, Massachusetts, to Kate Claire Crowley, a professor of occupational therapy, and Peter Wittrock, an actor and voice teacher. Finn grew up near the stage of Shakespeare and Company, where his father worked. He made his Broadway debut as Happy in Death of a Salesman, directed by Mike Nichols. Recently he has also appeared at the Goodman Theatre opposite Diane Lane in Tennessee Williams Sweet Bird of Youth, directed by David Cromer, and alongside Sarah Wayne Callies in The Guardsman, directed by Gregory Mosher at The Kennedy Center. Off-Broadway he starred in Tony Kushner's The Illusion at the Signature Theatre. Shortly after graduating from Juilliard, he played Romeo at the Shakespeare Theatre In DC, and Marchbanks in Bernard Shaw's Candida at the Berkshire Theatre Festival. His 2014 films included Un amour d'hiver (2014), Noé (2014), and Invincible (2014). On television, he appeared in _Masters of Sex_ on Showtime as well as The Normal Heart (2014) on HBO. Wittrock originated the role of Damon on La force du destin (1970), and has made appearances on shows such as Esprits criminels (2005), La loi selon Harry (2011), Les experts: Miami (2002), Cold Case: Affaires classées (2003), and Urgences (1994). He attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. He is a member of The Mechanicals Theatre Group in Los Angeles, where he has also directed. His screenplay The Submarine Kid (2015), which he wrote with lifelong friend Eric Bilitch, has been turned into a film.
