Fiona Mackenzie - Biography

Ms. Mackenzie is an Los Angeles & NY based writer, director, producer and partner in Future World Media, for whom she has developed multiple film and television projects currently being packaged as US/UK/Canadian co productions. Before founding Future World Media, Ms. Mackenzie was based at Sony Pictures in Los Angeles as the Vice President of Features and Television of the Turman Morrissey Company (American History X, The Graduate, The River Wild) and also developed and Produced Miracle on the Mountain for CBS and Columbia Tristar. After Sony Ms. Mackenzie held an In-House Producing deal at 20th Century Fox with Davis Entertainment; (Alien Vs. Predator, I-Robot, Behind Enemy Lines). In scripted television, Ms. Mackenzie also worked in Paris for Lionsgate and Gaumont on the long running, hit series The Highlander. Before working in the entertainment industry, Ms. Mackenzie was a TV journalist based in Paris for ABC's Worldwide Television News (WTN), covering stories all over Europe, Africa, and Asia. She also produced for CNN, TF1, Canal Plus, RTL and the BBC. The scope of her reporting included politics, music, travel, arts and investigative journalism. Born in Hong Kong and a dual US/UK citizen, Ms. Mackenzie received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley in Economics and her Masters, M.S., from Georgetown University's Graduate School of Foreign Service. Ms. Mackenzie is fluent in several languages and has shot on location in more than 35 countries around the world. She has been a guest lecturer at NYC Tisch Film School and Georgetown University, speaking on writing, directing and the power of Film & Human Rights.
