He stayed on to earn a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts (with Merit) and a Master of Arts (with First Class Honours), both in 'Film, Television and Media Studies'. The show received four awards at the 2014 LA Webfest, including Outstanding Series and Outstanding Writing. The Horizon is written and directed by Boaz Stark, known for his work on the hit shows Sons and Daughters, Home and Away, and Packed to the Rafters. Francis also appears in the Australian feature film Ruben Guthrie, directed by Brendan Cowell.

Since moving to Sydney, Francis has studied with Howard Fine and explored the Chubbuck technique with one of Ivana Chubbuck's original students, Anthony Brandon Wong. Francis is also a model, qualified personal trainer and writer for the popular Australian men's magazine, DNA.
