Freddie Crowder - Biography

Originally born in Grimsby, Freddie Crowder now lives a short distance away in the small town of Caistor, which nestles on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. He is a pupil at Caistor Grammar School, a selective school with academy status, ranked one of the top schools in the UK for academic performance.

The middle child of three brothers, Freddie enjoys tremendous support from both his immediate and extended family.

Outside of school, he enjoys playing the guitar, drums and keyboard in a local band, as well as taking lead on vocals, and is an active member of a local football team. However, his overriding passion is acting and performing and he now takes classes at Bradford's Yorkshire School of Acting.

It was whilst a pupil of the Grimsby drama school Stagecoach that Freddie, then aged just 10 years old, fought off strong competition to secure a role in the film "Grimsby", by impressing casting directors with his confidence and talent.

In the film, Freddie plays the role of Tsunami, a lager drinking, cigarette smoking, thieving individual, a total contrast to his home background. Yet his ability to improvise, when required, so impressed Sacha Baron Cohen, the film's writer and leading actor, that the script was adapted to enlarge his role.

Freddie's movie debut involved working on set in both the UK and South Africa and was an early introduction to the disciplines required in a profession that he hopes to forge a career.

On completion of filming, the actress Rebel Wilson (who plays the role of his screen mother) wrote congratulating Freddie saying, "You crushed it."
