Gabrielle Elyse - Biography

Gabrielle Elyse, born Gabrielle Elyse Fisher, is a Texas born television and film actress, singer and dancer. She is best known for her role as Josie on the Nickelodeon TV sitcom, Nicky Ricky, Dicky and Dawn.

Gabrielle was born near Dallas Texas to parents who met in the Air Force. Her father is Japanese and African-American and her mother is Filipino and Scottish. She prides herself in being multi-racial and identifies with all of her ethnicities. Gabby has one older sister who is in the Air Force and has always wanted younger siblings.

Gabrielle started acting at a very young age. At 4 years old, she knew she wanted to be an actress and distinctly remembers telling her mom "I want to do that." From then on, she'd act in shows, put on sketches, and perform for friends and family on a regular basis. She loved Show and Tell because it allowed her mind to "run wild." In School Theater, Gabrielle excelled and recruited friends and family to act in her original works. It wasn't until the age of 10 that Gabrielle started training professionally. Her mom challenged her to attend acting classes for 1-year without being absent. Gabrielle was successful and was allowed to sign with her first agent in Texas at the age of 11.

Gabrielle has studied with WACT Academy, School of Rock, Margie Haber Studios, and the critically acclaimed Second City Improv and Groundlings in Los Angeles to name a few. She is a trained actress, singer and dancer.

Gabrielle's friends consider her to be multi-faceted. In other words she's the girl who wants to do everything - and is quite capable! She approaches life with a "Yes" attitude and believes in challenging herself in everything she does. She considers herself "Old School" and in fact very possibly was "born in the wrong era." Old music is her infatuation and she has even named her pets after old-school artists: Quincy Jones & Phillip Bailey. She is family-oriented and devoted to her circle of friends. It is her strong opinion that everyone should have a right to their own point of view. She is a math and science wiz and a huge fan of Star Trek. Among her many interests are: fashion, dancing, singing, music, art, classic cars and collecting vinyl records. As an excellent student, she enjoys school and has a 4.0 GPA. Gabrielle aspires to direct and produce her own shows and projects in the future.

Gabrielle has worked on numerous commercials, voice-overs and independent films. In 2013, Gabrielle guest-starred on Liv & Maddie as Skylar. She also appeared on The Thundermans and Austin & Ally. In mid-2014, Gabrielle was cast as a series regular on the Nickelodeon comedy, Nicky Ricky, Dicky and Dawn playing Josie. She has stated that since she has always wanted younger siblings, it feels good and very natural to be in a series with younger kids. She becomes a big sister to all those who work with her.

Gabrielle is a strong believer that unifying humanity is possible through peace, continued sharing of traditions, tolerance and understanding one another through multi-ethnic cultures. As a huge supporter and volunteer of youth, she believes in helping young kids discover their capacity for being great. She would love to work with the United Nations as a child advocate.
