Georgina Moffat - Biography

Georgina Moffat was born in London, and is of Australian, English, Dutch and Russian ancestry, descending from Prince Mikhail Vorontsov. As a young girl, Georgina grew up in Budapest, then Paris with her parents and sister. The family moved to Amsterdam in her teens where she was subsequently signed by Elite model management. However, Moffat did not stay in Amsterdam so as to finish schooling in the UK.

Georgina started her career in acting, as part of the main cast in channel 4's "skins" from 2007-2008. She then attended UCL in London to study philosophy and art history. In 2013, Georgina began working as a songwriter and composer, subsequently founding Cristobal & Miu - a branding and music consultancy.

Georgina comes from both an aristocratic and artistic family, and many members have been highly regarded in the arts and film industries. She is the great-great granddaughter of actor and RADA founder Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree, and the granddaughter of screenwriter and producer Ivan Moffat. Ivan was married to Katherine Smith, daughter of William Henry Smith, 3rd Viscount Hambleden and Lady Patricia Herbert. Her great grandmother - Iris Tree - was similarly, a celebrated actress and poet, known for "La Dolce Vita" and for being the muse of artists Modigliani, Jacob Epstein and Augustus John. She was married to the artist, photographer and designer Curtis Moffat. Actor Oliver Reed and director Carol Reed were also a part of the Beerbohm family.
