Gina Lockhart - Biography

Gina Lockhart has lived and breathed the art of entertainment since her earliest years. Growing up with reruns of Star Trek, Twilight Zone, Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels and many more, she aspired to be as strong and self powered as the women she saw through that television screen. She has surpassed this goal with grace, a fighting spirit, good humor, and even a small bit of humility left intact. Gina continues to thrive to be an example for hard working, self aware and empowered women in the entertainment industry.

The first movie to start her passion for film and production was the Greta Garbo classic, Camille (1936). Gina was enchanted by the way light, sets, and costumes were all used as elements to take the story to a higher level of emotional connection. This interest only grew stronger as she became exposed to the production environment of films, studying directing, producing, and editing all as tools to bring a story and characters to life.

Her particular interests are in science fiction, fantasy, action/adventure, and classic films. Her favorite directors include Peter Jackson, J.J. Abrams, George Cukor, John Hughes, and Stephen Spielberg, amongst many more. She has preformed in plays, created art, and sang in choirs, and has a year of vocal training with four octave range.

Starting out, she mixed her love of film production with a keen ear for rock, and got into music documentary work and band video production. During this work, she realized this passion would be her life, and enrolled in college for film studies.

First and foremost for Gina though, is that she knows that if she can make something that entertains herself, her harshest critic, that it's almost certain to entertain others. Her passion and dedication to this task shine through in her everyday activities, including active blogging about the industry, reviews, and a constant attention to what's new and exciting and going on.

As part of her strong interest in film and music production, Gina was drawn into the world of editing, learning Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Vegas, After Effects, and other tools needed to turn raw footage into a film people could connect strongly to. She's also been involved in voice-overs, script-writing, costuming, and many other fields related to film production. Gina is a one-woman film studio, ready to get things done.

Where the rubber really meets the road for Gina though is in collaboration. Her social skills, energy, passion, and talents all come together to bring groups into focus, keep them on task, and drive toward the finish line faster and more effectively than possible without her. She has worked with filmmakers and musicians around the world, and took particular pleasure in working with Northwest Artists Against Domestic Violence on a CD project titled "The War in our Backyard", the money from which went to those affected by domestic violence in the area. She has become a key figure in the Seattle Area Filmmakers society as a result.
