Gordon Alexander - Biography

Born in Edinburgh to Scottish parents, Gordon comes from a long line of talented musicians and performers, the most notable being the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. His Grandfather, George Milne was an important figure in Gordon's early childhood. Being a percussionist in both the BBC Scottish Symphony and the National Scottish Orchestras, he encouraged Gordon to follow the family tradition and become a keen musician.

Due to the nature of his father's work, some of Gordon's childhood was spent relocating. The disruption this caused, resulted in schooling being difficult for him and he was consequently quite shy and introverted as a child. This was noticed by his drama teacher, who encouraged him to participate in school drama classes thus building his confidence and bringing him out of his shell. At the age of eleven he first appeared on stage in the school production of Aladdin.

Gordon also excelled at sports and at the age of eight, discovered martial arts. His physical ability led to him winning several British titles in Kung Fu and later on, to be selected as a member of the GB Wushu squad. After completing university he travelled to Beijing, China, and spent several years training and advancing his martial artistry.

Quickly noticed by members of the Chinese film industry Gordon soon found himself working as an action actor / stunt performer with some of Asia's best luminaries such as Jackie Chan.

The desire to explore his artistic strengths drove him to pursue his passion for acting back in England. After refining his skills in live theatre and a tour to Italy in a theatrical production, Gordon then landed the lead role in a film called 'The Purifiers' in 2002. Since then he has acted in some fourteen films with five lead / support lead roles. Gordon adopted the name Alexander as his stage name as a fitting tribute to his father who passed away in 2006.

Gordon is also recognised as one of the leading actors in the UK for motion capture in the international video games industry. Having worked on over 30 games, some of his credits include James Bond in the Golden Eye game, Nite Owl and Roshanck in Watchmen and Captain Walker in Spec Ops The Line.

Fearing disillusionment setting in due to the lack of strong acting opportunities and not wanting to give up on a profession he loved, Gordon looked at other areas where he could still keep within the industry. After fulfilling the necessary requirements he was accepted onto the UK Stunt register. His reputation as an outstanding and intelligent physical performer has resulted in him doubling some of Hollywood's leading actors.

Returning to acting, Gordon will soon be seen in the much anticipated Chinese co-production feature film "Somewhere only we know", 2015, as Dr. Josef Novak playing opposite one of Asia's biggest stars Xu JingLei.
